Deze mooie 4 éénjarigen spayed wijfje werden gebracht aan de schuilplaats op 31 Maart; wij zijn verrast die zulk een mooie en vriendschappelijke kat nog heeft worden goedgekeurd om. Jessie is een gezonde en gezellige kat die negatief voor Katachtige Leukemie & FIV testte. WHS heeft meer dan 100 katten en katjes zoals Jessie die op goede huizen vandaag wachten; de goedkeurings prijzen omvatten spay/onzijdige, oortatoegering, vaccin & meer!

Nevelig, 155221 & Micky, 155218

Nevelig, 13 jaar oud, en haar pal Micky, 5 jaar oud, spayed allebei wijfjes, werden gebracht in de schuilplaats 28 Februari aangezien hun eigenaar bewoog en niet hen kon nemen. Beide meisjes deden werkelijk goed in hun pleeghuis en wij zouden werkelijk hen willen kunnen houden samen indien mogelijk een zeer speciale goedkeuringsprijs van toepassing zijn voor beide katten. Wij hebben in paren gerangschikt velen (en kies) uit katten van variërende leeftijden en achtergrond beschikbaar voor goedkeuring!

Marmalade & Caroline, 155662/666

Marmalade & Caroline’s owner passed away and there was no one able to take them on, so they came to the WHS on March 9. These beautiful ~6 year old cats rely on each other for companionship and company- we would be very sad to break this ‘family’ up and are very optimistic someone will open their heart & home to both cats. A very special adoption fee applies- $80.00 for both cats and includes their vet exam, vaccine, pet insurance and more!

Shady, 133369

Shady may have been featured before but as our only longterm dog, we need to get this beautiful Norwegian Elkhound mix into a permanent home of her own! Shady is a really sweet and affectionate doggy who weighs in at about ~45lbs and stands just over knee-height at her shoulder. Shady likes to go for walks and is really great on her head collar. Shady is a smart, energetic and playful dog who will benefit from an active home to keep her busy & happy. Shady is 1 ½ years old and loves to play with other dogs- if they can keep up with her! Shady was adopted first as a puppy in late 2006, but has basically been in our care- through absolutely no fault of her own- since November 2007. Shady is a staff & volunteer favorite and we are puzzled as to why she’s been passed over! Shady has been with us for too long, and we would love to see her adopted to a loving owner/family one day very soon- she is too wonderful not be enjoyed! Adoption fee includes vet exam, vaccine, Rabies, heartworm test, pet insurance and more!

Anne is a ~6 year old female Domestic Short Hair ‘champagne tortoisehell’. This poor kitty has been with us and awaiting a home since early December, when someone brought her in stray after finding her on Morrow Avenue. Anne is a friendly and sociable cat who is an ambassador as one of our pet visit cats to hospitals & personal care homes! TJ and his sister Kittlin were surrendered in March by their owner who was experiencing some health problems. They were brought in with a dog and another cat, both of whom have been adopted. We’d love to be able to keep these two handsome lads together and are offering a reduced adoption fee as an incentive. Phoenix is a really neat cat whose owner wasn’t able to keep him any longer. Phoenix is quite a tall and dignified cat who seems OK with other cats, although he’d probably enjoy being King of his Castle, too! Phoenix likes to cuddle and is quite friendly once he becomes acquainted with you. This handsome ~3 year old would love to steal a spot in your heart! Mountie, 155948

Mountie is a shy 2 year-old kitty found in the Fort Garry area- he was so afraid he had to be livetrapped but it was obvious to us this was a domesticated cat in need of a home. Mountie was scared and dirty from living outdoors; he was amazingly well behaved and calm for his bath. This big handsome boy would do well in a quieter home with not a lot of activity, where he can adjust at his own pace to his new surroundings. He may do well with another friendly cat for company & socialization. Mountie is a cuddler. Mountie’s adoption fee includes his neuter, vet exam, Rabies vaccine, FeLV & FIV test, pet insurance & more!

Homer, 155045

Homer is a very lucky dog after being found with a badly injured front leg in the north end of the city in February. Homer needed a lot of care and work by our veterinary team- for almost a month they worked on him in order to prepare him for adoption- he is now doing fantastic. Homer likes other dogs (provided they are respectful of him); he handles easily and LOVES to play ball! Homer would do best in a home with kids 12 years+ as he has a tendency to by shy in new situations. Homer bonds quickly and will be a terrific dog! Shady, 133369

Shady is a very smart and eager dog who was adopted as a puppy; however, her adopter did not realize the time a young puppy needs in order to become a trained, well-adjusted member of the family, and returned her. Shady likes to play with stuffed toys and loves to play with other happy and silly dogs! This spayed female Norwegian Elkhound mix is about 1.5 years old and will do well in an active home. She’s best suited to kids 12 years+ as she is still learning. Adoption fee includes her spay, vaccine, Rabies, pet insurance and more!

Sweetie is a shy and quiet cat who needs a quiet and stable home. She did well in her foster home; she is likely best suited as the only pet in her home and is best suited to teens/adults who understand her quiet ways. At just over 5 years old, Sweetie would love to go ‘home again’ really soon! Sweetie was surrendered when she was found stray in St.Vital on February 22. Louis is a frisky 3.5 year old Domestic Short Hair (with a cute bobbed tail!) whose owner surrendered him in early March as he was too rough for the kids. Louis is a feisty fella who would do best in a home with adults only- someone out there must be looking for a cat with lots of spunk & purrsonality! Hunter is a big fella used to living with other cats and kids. Hunter is a very nice and friendly kitty who has tested negative for feline AIDS and feline leukemia- he’s also been vaccinated against Rabies since being surrendered to us in early March. Hunter would really like to be adopted soon and would probably be a good choice if you have kids/cats in the home already. Wanda is hoping she has better luck next time…. She was adopted as a kitten in 2004 and found as a stray in the Elmwood area in January. Wanda’s registered owner had given her away a couple of years ago, but didn’t know to whom. Wanda is a friendly, outgoing and happy ~4.5 year old cat who has been patiently waiting for a home for over 2 months- she needs an address of her own! As a longterm cat, her adoption fee has been reduced to $39.50 and includes her vet exam, spay, vaccine, Rabies, pet insurance & more!

Fella is a sweet and cuddly Border Collie mix who loves to go for car rides! This busy and active ~2 year old dog was brought to us when his owner found him to be too much work. Fella Roo is a great walker on leash, likes to play with other dogs and is very cuddly and affectionate. He seems good with cats! Fella is a busy dog and can be pushy sometimes, so he’s best for older kids. At ~50lbs he is full grown and requires an active owner to keep him busy & happy. Roxy is a very sweet, happy-go-lucky 2 year old Shepherd mix whose owner had no time for her. Roxy loves to play with other dogs and was good with her owner’s cat. She shows great family potential for kids 10 years+. Roxy has food allergies and requires a certain diet to control this; food allergies are a common occurrence in dogs and relatively easy to control. Charlotte’s owner had too many cats and was being evicted from her home; Charlotte and four other cats were surrendered to us in January. Keith, 152971

Keith is a really sweet, very affectionate and goofy Lab mix. Keith had been fending for himself in the Ste. Anne, MB area for about four months until someone was able to catch him. Keith is a real charmer and has the lovey-dovey goofy nature many Labs have. He loves belly rubs, cookies and giving kisses. Keith can be a pushy dog and hasn’t been taught how to share his treats so we think he’s best for kids 16 years+ because he requires a confident leader to learn from. Adoption fee includes his neuter, vet exam, Rabies vaccine, pet insurance and more!

Blue & Furless are like Lady & the Tramp- they belong together! Their owner moved into a no-pets facility and was not allowed to being these two kitties. Blue is a 9 year old neutered male Seal Point Siamese and Furless is a 6 year old spayed female Domestic Medium Hair. Furless is kind of shy and reliant upon Blue; both cats have been around other cats & dogs before and are best suited to quieter, gentle children. We would love for this cuddly kitty couple to be adopted soon; they require a home together. Adopt both for $80.00!
