My name is Marina, and I’m a new author on the “LVR” series of blogs. You can find my author page here. I have three cats and two dogs, which definitely help make life more interesting and enjoyable. Lily, Bella and Oliver are a family of cats that I rescued and Paisley and Sebastian are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Here on PetLvr, I’ll be blogging about pets in the news, pet agility shows and celebrity pets. But first I’d like to introduce my pets and myself in more detail.
I recently graduated from Youngstown State University and received a degree in Professional Writing and Editing. I own a writing and editing business called Cat’s Eye Editing, LLC. I’m passionate about environmental issues as well as animal rights, and I would like to try to make a difference with my writing. I definitely believe that the way people treat animals is a reflection of their character.
Well .. it’s “Tax Time” again for me .. and, I just got over one of the first deadlines - ‘T4 Season’. In addition to me trying to get out all of my monthly bookkeeping clients’ work out the door .. I’m also starting to work on Year End financial statement preparation and corporation income tax. For this past month, it was also all about the preparation of employee and owner wage remuneration and/or dividend slips that have to be reported and filed with Canada Revenue Agency by the end of February every calendar year.
Well .. in every normal month my busiest ‘offline’ time of work is around the 20th and the last week of each month and this past month was a doozie for me! I had a few extra jobs and rush deadlines, had a few late comers, and quite frankly .. I think I only slept about 5 hours in the past 72 hours! Most of my clients have December year ends, so work is definitely piling up - and, Personal Income Tax clients are now calling (our deadline to file personal income tax in Canada is April 30th for most people, June 15th if you are self employed).
Also .. I’m using the application from twhirl.org …it’s just like any other chat program (MSN Messenger, Google Talk, etc) and much better than the web interface

In a nutshell, this site will be storing all DOG related information found in our “BREED INFORMATION” category. We expect this site to grow into a site that will become home to one of the largest lists of breeders on the internet, plus introducing many dog related websites to the public, in a blog format.
Our long term goal is to better help the pet lover in making a decision in purchasing and choosing the right dog for their needs.
While we have several “PARTS” to this new “Breed” series of blogs .. it turns out that I was creating my PART II blog .. CatLvr.com .. during the time of a server move .. and, the database is toast! I will be introducing this and the other blogs at another time.
For DogLvr.com .. If you wish to subscribe to its RSS Feed …click on the following link and add it to your favorite RSS feed reader program:

MAIN - More and More Cats Are Living To A Ripe Old Age
Cats today are living longer than any previous generation thanks in large part to the significant advancements made in feline nutrition and veterinary medicine. While heritage plays a role in determining your cat’s longevity, better commercial cat foods, early neutering and regular veterinary checkups, including vaccinations, play an important part. Just 20 years ago, the life expectancy of a cat was four to six years; today they can live into their 20s. Most cats are considered to be entering their golden years around the time they reach the age of 10. And much like humans can expect age-related physical changes, so too can their feline counterparts.
