About FIPPER (from the D’Arcy A.R.C. site)

darcy-fipper.jpgFipper is a five year old Shepherd-cross who was left outside unattended for three days after receiving chemical burns to nearly eighty percent of her face. She was turned over to Machray Animal Hospital in the third week of August. Fipper was twenty five pounds underweight with her burns infected and covered in bugs and filth.

We owe a debt of many thanks to those who have supported Fipper’s rehabilitation with donations.

We have been overwhelmed with calls from concerned members of the community which we are also thankful for. Here is an update on Fipper:

- she is doing fantastic
- she receives daily dressings
- her face is washed every day with a medicated soap and cream
- she eats 5 times a day, 5 to 6 cans of wet food
- she is gaining weight
- she has very limited exposure to people at this time

Thank you all for your care and concern. This incident is under careful investigation by the proper authorities.

Sugar Glider Video

Yesterday, our friends invited us over to their “pool party”. I was suprised how domesticed the family of chipmunks that live within her cracks of her sidewalks were! Chipmunks love to collect peanuts in their pouches and “Itchy” (the friendliest baby of the family) seemed to max out at 14 full peanuts in his cheeks, and 5 shelled peanuts before scooting away to hide his prized mouthful!

Now .. our friends have agreed to do an interview and I will be going back to take some pictures and will post that around mid-August here in [The Blog]. In the meantime, I was searching YouTube for some neat chipmunk videos.

My Doggie Trailer

doggie bike trailer

I’m at the beach right now, on my laptop with my new EVDO card access .. having my morning cup of coffee. In a few minutes, my wife will be out jogging for about an hour and half to two hours around the neighborhood .. and I will be joining her riding my red bike. Last summer, when we used to go every morning jogging/biking .. we left the dogs in the cottage. The reason was basic - they couldn’t keep up!

It wasn’t until half way through the summer that our neighbors complained about the barking, although it really wasn’t a complaint per say .. just “acknowledgement” that our dogs were barking every minute we were gone. I just stopped going on the morning bike rides.

It’s PapillonLvr Time!

I just took Maxxie and Sophie out back for a quick romp along the creek .. (they’re our two Papillon dogs) .. and thought to myself .. “Geez .. they look so cute running around like that! I wish I had a video camera!“.

Fortunately .. many other Papillon dog owners out there DO have video cameras .. and provide us with some GREAT entertainment and joy from their uploading and sharing videos of their pets on YouTube … More →
