Pet Turtle Care

Pet Turtle Care

By Michael Russell

Turtles are fascinating pets to own, but many people get them not knowing how to care for them. They need to have the right amount of space, light, shade, and moisture to survive. You need to learn what turtles require before you get one.

The best place to keep a turtle is outside. Turtles hibernate in the winter and if they are kept inside they won’t hibernate. This can cause them to develop liver diseases. A turtle’s natural cycle should not be messed with. Also, if you keep a turtle pen outside you can create a completely natural turtle habitat.

Flying Squirrels are very fun pets to own. They form extremely strong bonds with their owner and are truly fascinating to watch. Many people don’t realize this, but these animals have actually been kept as pets for hundreds of years!

The minimum cage size to keep between one and three flying squirrels is two feet long by two feet tall by one foot deep. You should get a wire cage rather than a glass cage so they can climb and get more air circulation. They will need a nest box in the cage to sleep in. Put the nest box at the top of the cage because flying squirrels love to be up high. Bedding material made out of cotton should be used in the box. Do not use anything containing rayon or polyester.

Pet Care - Walking Support

Pet Care - Walking Support

By Michael Russell

My dog was getting on in years. She was around nine years old. I had been enjoying her company since she was about two. Her previous owner was having some relationship difficulties with his spouse and they were separating so he chose not to look after the dog any more. I was looking for a large heavy watchdog at the time and answering a local classified news paper ad brought us together. She was a Rottweiler. What first impressed me about her was her quiet self-assured manner. She fitted my requirements exactly.

Snoopy loved to eat. She had a big appetite. Even giving her daily exercise walks didn’t seem to reduce her weight gain. She was so heavy I could not have lifted her. It could have been her age catching up with her, but Snoopy’s leg and shoulder joints started causing her to limp. Perhaps she became too tired after one of her walks. I saw her trip badly one day and realised that she was going to have some trouble walking. Since her joints appeared weak causing her pain, I thought giving them support would help.

Dental Care For Your Pets

By Paul Cris

Every individual tries to keep his teeth free from all types of cavities. Similarly you must take care of your pets also. Because the disease of the teeth later affects the other organs of the body such as heart, liver, kidneys etc and therefore it is advisable to start treatment at an early stage. American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is the organization which has been primarily established to help veterinarians in providing better treatment to the animals and in also teaching pet owners about the significance of pet care.

Periodontal infection is a painful disease condition that manifests in the tamed animals and is chronic in nature. It is the inflammation of the gum tissues surrounding the teeth. The symptoms begin as the bacteria acts upon the decayed portion of the tooth. If it is not treated on time, a swollen mass is formed surrounding the gums and necrosis is caused. In this way, the bony prominences in a tooth become loose and a type of tenderness is caused leading to severe pain.
