This is one great family pick! Left at the back entrance of the shelter with a box of her puppies, this pretty DobieX has been with us since November 17, 2005. She was found with a note from her owners that read they could not afford to care for her any longer, and that they hoped we’d find a good home for her & her pups. Princess did extremely well in foster care, is housebroken & good with the kids she’s met. She likes other dogs & needs a family to love, and to love her. $88.06 to adopt, half off as a longterm dog.

We need to find Prancer a home! Found stray in Moose Lake, Prancer has a congenital neurological condition that causes her to high-step (hence the name!) & some weakness. Prancer is a very loving, and very loveable pup who needs a home with someone who understands that although she has special needs, she also needs someone special! (Winnipeg) – (February 10th, 2006) This Valentine’s day, find your true love at the Winnipeg Humane Society’s “You Can’t Buy Love, But You Can Adopt It” Valentine’s Day Sale.

From Saturday, February 11th through Tuesday February 14th, you can adopt any cat, dog, kitten, puppy or rabbit for $14.00 off their regular adoption price. And, because one is the loneliest number, check out our “Sweetheart of a deal”:

* 2 cats over 6 months old for $80.00
* 2 dogs over 6 months old for $100.00
* 2 kittens under 4 months for $200.00
* 2 kittens 4-6 months for $125.00

We also have an on-going Mom & Kitten special (or when we don’t have moms, an adult cat) for $122.15. That is even less than the fee of just a kitten $131.00.

Adoption fees include spay and neuter, tattoo and microchip, 6 week pet insurance and more! Shelter hours: Saturday 10am-5:30pm, Sunday 12pm-5pm, Monday and Tuesday 12pm-8pm.

This dog has so many wonderful qualities it’s impossible to list them all. Jacob is a very gentle, quiet and affectionate dog who has been with us since November! He is often overlooked in the kennels due to his quiet & reserved nature- until he knows you! Jacob loves to play, wrestle and be an all around gentle goofball. Cornelius is a wonderful dog- why is he homeless?! “Corny” as he’s affectionately known with the staff, loves people and is very affectionate. Niko, 109846

Niko needs you help! With us since he was only 12 weeks old, when he came into us with a terrible skin condition on July 28, 2005, Niko has literally grown up before our eyes. Niko is an incredibly resilient ~9 month old dog, as he struggled thru this terrible skin condition and has persevered! He enjoys other dogs & did really well in his foster home. Niko is still a puppy at heart and is now a very healthy dog. As a long term dog his fee is reduced- only $73.06. Please consider Niko for a new addition to your family!

Poor Mabel was abandoned in our parking lot by her owner, along with her companion kitty Markie. Both lovely, deserving cats are available for adoption at Petcetera on Regent Avenue, 661-0790; ideally we’d like to place these girls together, if someone can find it in their heart to take them both in, otherwise we will separate them. Tonka, 111882

Tonka is part of a pair located at Petcetera on Leila Avenue, one of our ’satellite adoption centres’. Because Tonka & Jasmine have been with so for so long, since September 13, we are prepared to separate these two great pals for the sake of getting into the home they should be. Tonka is roughly 4.5 years old and Jasmine is about 8 years. We would still place both together if the right owner comes forward. $65.00 for the pair, or $65 each- they just need homes!!

Carisma is a very sweet and friendly mature cat of roughly 5 years who was found in North Kildonan waaayy back in October. She was not claimed despite being clean and well fed. Jewels is a real gem! She is a German Shepard Border Collie mix with a wonderful and sweet disposition. She is very playful and loves interacting with other dogs which can be a real plus. She is young and energetic and would be best suited to a home with children over 12 years old. She has a lot of potential, and will be a very loyal friend to a loving owner.
