PetLvr Mailbag: Stung by a Bad Breeder

Dear PetLvr Mailbag,

I recently bought a registered Yorkie from a breeder and after 3 weeks and about $1,000.00 vet bill, we have found out that the puppy died of liver failure he was born with. The breeder has offered to give us another puppy, but we can’t trust the breeder.

Is their any way they are responsible for our vet bills and to return our money? Also, is there someone here in Central Texas we can report them to so future buyers and their kids don’t get heartbroken like us?

Dog Owners Beware

Recently, a New Jersey Superior Court in Mercer County awarded $100,000 in damages to a UPS driver for injuries he suffered while trying to deliver a package. The homeowners’ dog was roaming alone loose on the property, had a history of viciousness, went at the driver, and the driver severely and permanently injured his knee trying to escape.

Also, recently, an unrestrained dog jumped out of its owner’s car window and viciously attacked a woman and her dog. The attacking dog was reported to be a repeat offender.
