New Name and Tagline

NEW NAME: PetLvr Blog For Pet Lovers
NEW TAGLINE: Pet Rescue, Health & Training Tips, and More!
NEW LOGO:

Special Thanks

You might have noticed on the old logo header, that when I smooshed together a new revision of my October 2005 logo design … (translation: I stretched a 728px width logo into a 940px size and removed my papillon dogs from the logo) .. that the Dog’s head is cut off and the Horse’s ears are also cut-off.

Fortunately for me (and the dog and horse) that W. Ching Ya, the Social @ Blogging Tracker, came to my rescue with her great logo design skills! I’ve been thinking of a new blog name for a while now, to drop the “.com” from the logo, but although I constantly think of this site as “[The Blog]” .. more and more people seem to just refer it as “PetLvr Blog”.

I thought “PetLvr Blog for Pet Lovers” was a good direction for this blog, and transferable to my other “LVR” series of blogs as well (e.g. “DogLvr Blog for Dog Lovers” etc). However, for the new tagline, I would like to thank Sue Clark, from Lighthouse News, who came up with this new tagline, after a couple brainstorm chats in the ABF.

Q) What do YOU think of this name and tagline change?

Feel free to chime in down below in the comments!

The new header is a great improvement – congratulations to PetLvr and to Wong Ching Ya on a happy collaboration! The new tagline, too, works well. Much as I’ve enjoyed being described in the past as an animal-loving “Earthling” ;) the new tagline more accurately tells your new readers what goodies they can expect to find here. Again, job well done!

Thanks Rebecca :)

The nice thing about the old “Website for Earthlings” tagline, was that sometimes I could slip off-tangent sometimes and have stuff us Earthlings might like – that may not be pet related at times :D Of course, I don’t see that changing too much *g*

That’s very kind of you HART for the honorable mention in your post. I didn’t do much but a few tweaking on the original header, which is already done perfectly by yourself. ^^ Sue and Rebecca both did a great job suggesting on the tagline and SEO advantages.

I like the word ‘earthlings’ too, it reminds me a lot of LOTR when they talk about the half-lings (hobbits). Can’t help it, my favorite flick of all time.

Again, congrats on the new look & catchy tagline! Also, big thanks on the coffee. ^^

Hey, Hart, thanks for the mention, but I truly didn’t do much. Ching Ya, on the other hand, did a great job on the header image. I think it’s great dog has head and horse has ears again. She’s got amazing design skills. :)

Also, love the whole new look of the site. I don’t think I mentioned it before. It looks so professional now. Good Job and keep up the great work. Especially on the pet adoptions. Wish I could give every one of them a new forever home.
