Having a Laugh?Trying to fill up your calendar with exciting events during the wintertime can be challenging, but since winter is almost behind us, there are plenty of pet-related activities you can attend. Below are some upcoming events in Pennsylvania and Maryland that that might interest you and your loyal companion.

Celebration of Horses (April 17-19)

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and Parelli Natural Horsemanship will be hosting this event at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, PA. Parelli’s goal is to help an 11-year-old horse who was rescued from a killer buyer.

York County SPCA’s Pancake Barkfast (April 18)

At the Manchester Township Fire Hall in York, PA, from 7:30 am to 11 am, there will be a feast of a breakfast. Tickets are $6 in advance or $7 at the door (only $5 for children 5 to 12 years old). You can enjoy a delicious breakfast and check out the shelter’s adoptable animals.

Maryland SPCA’s 14th Annual March for the Animals (April 19)

The 1.5-mile march will commence at 10 am in the Druid Hill Park in Baltimore, MD. Dogs can dress up in costumes and also try out the agility course. In addition, pet owners can learn some tips from obedience demos and also buy supplies from the pet-friendly vendors.

Northeast Pet and Breed Rescue Expo (April 19)

The Hillside SPCA will be sponsoring this event, which will be held from 10 am to 2 pm at the Union Fire Company Field House in Hamburg, PA. This is a great opportunity to have your dog vaccinated or to finally get that professional photograph of your furry friend.

“Heroes Helping Heroes” Pet Fair (May 3)

At Cloud Nine Pet Services in Breinigsville, PA, the Valley Central Emergency Veterinary Hospital Animal Blood Bank and Miller-Keystone Blood Center will be hosting a pet fair from noon to 5 pm. Humans and animals who wish to donate their blood can do so (pet donors will be scheduled to have their blood taken at a later date).
