And who would have thunk it - the slideshow is of my own pets!!
This week, I upgraded to the PRO flickr account and have been starting to upload various types of pictures to the internet, in my feeble attempt to try to move closer to living in the clouds.
It’s Friday .. our anniversary is this weekend, and we’re heading out to the cottage shortly for the long weekend. I hope you don’t mind a little slideshow of the cutest pets in the world .. our very own critters … Maxxie and Sophie (the papillons) and Zeussie Pussy Cat and friends!

Tinkerbell, Daisy and Harry are dogs commonly caught in the spotlight. They seem to have the best of lives, wearing jeweled collars and being photographed at their best. If you haven’t figured it out already, the owners of these dogs are Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson and Geri Halliwell, respectively.
These dogs as well as others have captured the media’s attention, and small breeds like the Chihuahuas and Shih-tzus are being referred to as “handbag dogs.” Celebrities are making smaller breeds more desirable to the general public. Although these breeds are compact, adorable and willing to be dressed in just about anything, before you buy one you need to consider if this type of dog is right for you.

Angus, 112142

Angus is a very wonderful, however unlucky, cat who needs a permanent home! Found in a garbage bin in 2005, this longhaired lovely was redeemed to his owner only to be brought back in July 2008 as a stray. His owner wasn’t able to pick him up, so we began a new search for a new home for Angus. Angus is ~5 years old, has previously been good with children and seems to like other cats- a purrfect fit for your home perhaps? Adoption fee includes his vet exam, pet insurance, vaccine and a lifetime of friendship!
Egypt & Eclipse, 157985/987

Egypt & Eclipse were surrendered by their owner when she moved to a no-pets-allowed complex. Very frightened, it took them several days to adjust, but they were still very out of sorts. They needed foster care and thankfully a home was available. In foster care for about 2 weeks, we found that these lovely ladies are quiet & well mannered in a home setting and will likely do best in a quieter, stable home. Keep these girls together and adopt as a pair for only $79.00- fee includes their vet exams, spays, vaccines and more!

Every pet looks its best with a healthy, shiny coat. Whether it’s the family cat or a show-ring star, pets deserve proper skin and coat care. Healthy skin and coat can also indicate overall health and wellness, and a sudden change in the health of the skin and coat often indicates an underlying medical problem. For these reasons, every owner should take time to maintain and inspect their pet’s skin and coat regularly. These three tips will help you keep your pet looking and feeling great.
1. Brush Daily (no need to floss)

Animals are the ninth-ranked cause of driver distraction according to the analysis presented in California’s new legislation, which attempts to eliminate driver distraction. Carting your pets around with you while you run errands might be a way of life for you and your pet, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, California is being proactive by making it illegal for drivers to allow pets on their lap while operating a motor vehicle. While this may seem harsh, it’s really about the safety of you, your pet and other drivers on the road.
It can be distracting when your pet is jumping back and forth from the back seat to the front seat. Maybe your dog sits on your lap and puts its head out the window and barks at the cars whizzing by. Either way, it’s not the safest situation. Regardless of whether you live in California, there are ways that you can protect you and your pet on your next car trip.

With all of the dog t-shirts, sweatshirts, bandanas and other accessories, it’s tempting to want to dress your dog as well as pet loving celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera. The bling and charms turn your pet into the prince and princess that they were born to be, and everyone can see how much you care about your pooch. This week pets will be strutting new styles for Pet Fashion Week, which will be held August 23 and 24 at the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman Building located in New York City, New York.
Ruff Ruff and Meow will be exhibiting their new designs at the event. Even if you can’t make it to the runway to preview the latest trends in doggie wear, you can purchase some stylish tees and tanks online for your dog. Ruff Ruff and Meow’s designs for 2008 include new funny sayings such as “Only Child” and “My Dad is Single.”

Dear Petlvr Mailbag …
Polybore’s cat is terrible at catching mice. It catches them in the garden then brings them into the house and lets them go, alive.
I want the cat to catch and kill mice in the house and garden. Not bring in mice from outside and release them in the house.
Signed,
polybore from the Polybore blog!

Dear PetLvr Mailbag …
Okay, a 1-2 year old male feral/stray/whatever cat moved into my back yard. Got attacked by, I think, a raccoon, as the possums left and I have a few kits, one mom, and prolly 2 males right now.
He wont go into a trap, so how can I catch him ( the cat ) so I can get him checked out at the vets ? Several released ferals live in backyard so withholding food is not an option.

Dear PetLvr Mailbag ..
My dog lifts his leg to pee, then poops instead. This may seem like a silly question, but it causes poop to stick to the hair on his hind legs. Yuck!
