REST IN PEACE: Kirby The Papillon Dog – February 12, 2007

We were watching the 2007 Westminster Kennel Dog Show on TSN tonight (instead of American Idol) which is a rebroadcast of the events of February 12-13, 2007, when they mentioned that Kirby, the Papillon died that day February 12, 2007, at the age of 16 years. You know, I recall listening to that news as a Tidbit over conversation over on the car radio that day but, it never really sunk in until the show tonight – when added and reminders of Kirby and pictures were shown.

Both my wife and myself are still feeling a little sad. Kirby was a great inspiration for us!

Kirby, if you did not know him, won the February 1999 Best in Show Westminister Kennel Dog Show and his ‘breeder or real name’ was Ch Loteki Supernatural Being. Yes .. he was a supernatural being, that’s for sure! It was because of KIRBY that we were inspired to find Maxxie, our papillon dog.

When you do a search on the ‘www .. there is a nice Ode to Kirby and poem by ILUVROMEO on the USANetwork forums …

If you have any links to any Tributes to KIRBY the PAPILLON … please leave them in the comments. Thanks!

Here is Kirby – When he was the 1999 Best In Show!

And here is a ‘random’ Papillon Dog Video from YouTube *g*

Okay .. I couldn’t find one friggin Kirby video (oh well *sniff, sniff* thank you copyrighters) so I thought I would just REPOST an oldie but a goodie .. a video of our very own “Maxxie At Our Medieval Wedding” on August 31, 2002 .. oh, and yes – that’s me, HART and my wife YVONNE and about 80 out of 150 guests who came in medieval costumes on a 43c summer day! :)
