When many individuals think of fish tank accessories, decorations are often the first thing that comes to mind. Of course, fish tank decorations are ideal, especially if your fish tank is prominently displayed in your home or in your office, but fish tank décor is not all that fish tank accessories include. In fact, there are a few fish tank accessories that may end up being vital the survival of your fish or other fish tank inhabitants. Those accessories include protein skimmers and aquarium chillers.
If you own fish now or have in the past, you likely already know how easy it is for the tank water to change. Unfortunately, that change isn’t always good. Overtime, nitrate buildup can occur. That buildup makes it difficult for the fish inside your tank to breathe. It does so by eliminating the amount of oxygen that the water inside your tank receives. Oxygen is important to all fish, including other marine animals. That is why, if you don’t already have a protein skimmer for your fish tank, you are advised to purchase one, as soon as possible.
Taking your dog or puppy to the vet doesn’t have to be traumatic provided that it is handled and managed well right from the very first encounter. Most puppies will already have been to the vet at least once, about a the six to ten week stage to get their first set of vaccinations and to have a quick physical examination. However, some breeders may do their own vaccinations depending on local regulations and laws regarding the sale of some of the vaccinations.
Even if the puppy has been to the vet with the breeder it is still important to start your puppy or dog’s relationship with your vet as positively as possible. This can be done by following a few simple steps and avoiding any trauma or stressful conditions while in or at the veterinarian’s office.
Most people who own a puppy know how troublesome the biting stage is. Most puppies face the stage where they bite everything, and everyone. Your puppy has to be taught not to bite, or else it may become a danger, to itself, to you, and to everyone else around you. Biting gets to be less of a problem when the dog is at a older age but to stop it at a young age, you have to take the right steps. Just like babies, puppies go through a teething stage as well.
Most puppies will learn to their biting reflexes from their mothers and from their siblings. When your puppy gets overenthusiastic, whether it is during nursing or playing, the mother dog, or any of the other puppies, will be fast to find a way to solve it.
I think this is a great idea, and wanted to be part of the project. This is a straight copy/paste of an entry I just posted on my 1-800-HART Blog and thought I would pass it along to my PetLvr readers too. Only one blog per face, and the other blog is linked! But when this project is done … there will be a lot of bloggers’ sites to surf and enjoy! Yours could be one of them!
I’ve been getting quite a bit links in my Dashboard from faces on this page that has been blatantly copying the entire list of faces on their own pages, I guess to get a link trackback like I did. I’m not sure that this is a good idea, so I am not planning to do that - at least until all 2000 bloggers are listed (we’ll see .. it’s actually a great idea but, I hate people who have already done that already because in my Bloglines - the bloody post keeps showing up and takes a while to load - so I don’t people to be mad at me!)
Ferrets can be extremely lovable pets. They just have that adorable face that makes you smile. Ferrets are so lovable, people of the world have been making them their pets going as far back as the ancient Greeks. Perhaps Socrates even had one. Even better, ferrets make great gifts to love ones; Queen Elizabeth I of England thought so. The first things I think of when I imagine a new pet are chores and added responsibility, but ferrets are actually very easily manageable.
But let’s get back to the real reason anybody is ever interested in a ferret. They’re just really cool looking. I think of a ferret as an exotic pet, even though millions of people have them. A ferret is just something you don’t see everyday. Dogs and cats are everywhere, hell it even rains cats and dogs at times. Ferrets are just cool, there is no doubt about it. When you’re friends come over and see this animal their going to have one of maybe two responses. First, “What is that?” or Second, “Is that a ferret?” These questions will be quickly followed by adjectives describing the ferret, such as Cool, Awesome, Crazy, How Cute!
In recent years, a great deal of research has been carried out into the effects that owning a pet can have on reducing stress levels and assisting recovery from illness.
For many people, owning a pet gives them a great deal of enjoyment and satisfaction. There seems little doubt that coming home from a stressful day at work and spending time with your pet, can be a great way to unwind and reduce your stress levels.
Caring For Your Cat’s Ears- Do You Know What To Do?
By Jean Morgan
When you are a loving cat owner, you know that your cat is solely dependent upon you for her care. Part of caring for your cat and ensuring she stays in good health is caring for her ears. It is something that neither you nor your cat will likely enjoy at first, especially if she is not accustomed to you doing it, but after a while, you will both get used to the routine.
In general, you will need to take your cat to the veterinarian at least once a year for a regular checkup, and in between if she gets sick or injured. To prevent illness and disease, you should make certain that you look at your cats ears every so often, and if you notice anything unusual, call the veterinarian right away for an appointment. If you catch a potential feline ear problem early on, and seek treatment, you can usually cure it with medication before it turns into a major issue for your cat.
